This week we have continued with our topic of 'Food for Thought'. On Tuesday we made carrot cakes by following a recipe suggestion on the Tesco Farm to Fork website. The children were a little unsure about putting carrots into a cake mixture and didn't think they would like the taste at all.
However, take a look at our photographs to see just how yummy they were.
Today has been an even more exciting day with a super visit to the Tesco store in Worksop. The fantastic staff at Tesco took us on a Farm to Fork Trail around the shop floor and also behind the scenes where lots of exciting things take place.
We were able to see inside the store bakery and find out all about the different types of bread that are baked in there. We also visited the fresh fish counter and got very close to some rainbow trout and sardines!
There was even time to have a feast of lovely fresh fruit whilst completing some fun worksheets all about fruit and vegetables.
