Welcome to Welbeck Class

Mrs. Mills and I are really looking forward to the year ahead with our amazing Year 6 children. Here is some key information for this year. 

PE Days & Kit
Our PE days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing suitable footwear and the correct PE kit: plain black shorts or joggers without any logos, and no earrings on PE days for safety reasons.

Equipment
There’s no need for children to bring a pencil case or any stationery to school, as all equipment will be provided.

Learning & Communication
You can find key information about what your child will be learning this year in the Learning Overview. In addition, we’ll send home half-termly newsletters with further details about homework, PE, and important dates. 

Home Support
In Year 6, the children will continue to work on weekly spellings and times tables. They should continue to read three times per week and will have their reading diaries checked weekly. These should be brought into school every day. Your support with this is hugely appreciated and makes a real difference to support children in school. 

In Year 6, the children will also have a piece of homework to complete each week, which may be on paper or through the LBQ app. The children will be taught how to use this in school and log-in details will be sent home in reading diaries.
