This week in Music, we have learnt more about lyrics and what these mean. We discussed vocabulary we have already learnt this year, such as beat, tempo and rhythm and then moved on to discussing the lyrics. We each clapped along with the beat of the song and we had to listen carefully to all of the instruments in order to do this. We looked at the lyrics of the song 'Far' and talked about the meaning of the song. We discussed how music is important to people and allows them to share their feelings in a different way. We performed the song together as a class and then went to work in groups to perform and compose our own songs - we had some super ones!

Have a look at our class performance of the song below.
This week, we have continued to experiment with the different instruments to create our own musical pieces! We have worked together as part of a group to compose, rehearse and then perform our music to the rest of the class. We thought carefully about the beat and the rhythm we were using and some of us continued to use our voices as instruments and sang during the performance.
This week, we have worked as a class to form a mini choir! We focused on a song from the Lion King and all worked together to sing it. We had to listen to each other and had a go at singing at different pitches in order to create a varied effect. We have enjoyed learning more about singing and performance, with some of us wanting to perform in the future.
