English

This week, we have been designing our own chocolate bars and planning persuasive adverts to encourage people to buy them! We have designed our bars and described them using expanded noun phrases and group of three. We have also studied the features of persuasive adverts and have been thinking about rhetorical questions and offers that we could provide for our bars.

Following on from learning about different features of persuasive adverts, we have now written our own pieces in order to advertise our chocolate bars. We thought about the presentation of our adverts and how they could be eye-catching, whilst still including the relevant details.

This week, we are moving on to writing persuasive letters. We are using some of the same features as persuasive adverts, such as rhetorical questions, and are writing a letter to Mrs Middleton to persuade her not to ban playtimes!

We are now moving on to studying recounts. We have identified the features of recounts and have been sharing verbal recounts of positive experiences that we have had. This has prepared us for writing, as we have had the chance to explore new vocabulary and use the correct tense.
