Eco School 2025-6

Summer Term

This term, we sprang into action! We finished our signs for the wildlife area. We made hedgehog homes and put them into our wildlife area. Amelia’s artwork was created from bottle tops and displayed in Worksop as part of the North Notts Trail.

We had Walk 2 School Week on 15^th-19^th June and encouraged everyone to walk, cycle, or scoot to school. We made posters about this. We had fun learning about the benefits to us and the environment that this brings!

Spring Term

This term, we shared our Action Plan with the whole school in a whole school assembly. We planned in our Walk 2 School Week for June and began to make signs for our wildlife area. Y6 also entered a competition to design a piece of art created from plastic to be part of the North Notts Art Trail – and Amelia won! She met with an artist to create the final design!

Autumn Term

This term, we selected our Eco Committee members by having votes in each class. There are 2 members on our Eco Committee from each class. We are also joined by Mrs Cushing and Mrs Fullerton. We then completed our Environmental Review, reviewing 10 topics of environmental issues. Each class reviewed several areas, then we brought the results to our committee meeting and looked at our strongest and weakest areas. Our weakest areas have gone into our action plan for this year. The areas we have chosen to work on are: 

• marine
• school grounds
• transport

We discussed ideas for how we could improve in these areas and created this year's action plan.
