Around the World Day

The children really enjoyed learning about Mexico as part of our 'Around the World' geography day. We learnt about geographical features of Mexico and about the Aztecs. The children created sunstone plates based on the Aztec's stone. We also enjoyed learning some Spanish phrases.

This week we have continued our learning on decimals. We have practised multiplying and dividing fractions by using the column method and bus stop method.

We have continued reading our class story 'Running on the roof of the world' by Jess Butterworth and have started to explore the vocabulary choices that she uses. We have started to explore the characters thoughts and feelings and have written descriptions about the village that the story is set in.

This week we started our electricity topic. We have been learning about the history of electricity all the way back to the Ancient Egyptians and have learnt about famous scientists including Michael Faraday.
