Year 1

This week, we thought about what the word 'unique' means and how we are all different to each other. We shared things that we like or don't like and the things that make us an individual. It was amazing to hear all the ways we are different to each other. We also found out that we have some things in common , but that doesn't stop us being unique or special. Why don't you spend some time thinking about all the ways you are fabulous and special today?

This lesson, we started to discuss our feelings and described some feelings. We tried to identify what a feeling is, but we found it was very difficult to explain! We shared our experiences on times we have felt different things such as happy, sad, worried or proud and began to learn more about how we behave when we experience these feelings. We will dig a little deeper on that next lesson!

This week, we have discussed the different types of feelings we have but extended this to think about how this affects our behaviour. We learnt that people react to feelings in different ways, for example when someone is angry they may shout, cry, stomp their feet or do something else! We learnt that it is normal to experience a range of feelings and emotions and that we should speak to someone if we feel we need to.
