Creswell Class

Welcome to Creswell Class!

Creswell Class - Reception and Year One
Class teacher - Miss Brown                 Teaching Assistant - Mrs McCook

At St Luke's we believe that the Early Years lays the foundation for future development in all areas of school life and we aim to provide a varied and broad curriculum for all the children. Your child will follow the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage which covers six areas of learning:

Communication Language and Literacy

Mathematical Development

Personal Social and Emotional Development

Creative Development

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Physical Development

Our classroom is organised into provision areas which support these areas of learning. The curriculum is carefully planned to ensure that all the Early Learning Goals are fully met and we undertake a range of different themes throughout the year. Staff in the Foundation Stage will facilitate children’s learning by offering them a range of experiences to develop their thinking skills and encouraging them to become independent learners. We like the routines that form part of the day having a real purpose for all we do using indoors and outdoors. We will record significant events in learning and encourage children to evaluate what they have achieved.

We have high expectations of the children both in their work and behaviour. It is our belief that good work and behaviour should be valued and celebrated. Your child may receive stickers from us or a certificate or chance to show off their week at our weekly Celebratory Assembly.
