This week in Maths we have been learning about mixed number fractions. We have been learning to change improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa. We have also been learning to add and subtract mixed number fractions.
We are continuing with our class book 'Cosmic'. The children have been excellent in summarising the text and answering questions based on what they have heard. We have been developing our inference skills. For our Big Write, the children wrote some fantastic persuasive letters.
In DARE, we have been learning about drugs and the impact that they have on our body. We have spoken about the fact that we may feel pressured into taking drugs and the children are developing the skills in understanding how to say no.
This week we have continued to learn about the planets. We spoke about how the different planets orbit the sun and the children remembered how long it took each planet.
We have been learning about the cognitive triangle. We spoke about how our thoughts, feelings and behaviour are all linked and when we have a positive or negative experience it effects our feelings and behaviour as well as the things we think about.
