Morning Task

Please have a go at todays arithmetic task. You may take as long as you need on the questions.

Maths

This week in maths, we will be learning a new method for division. We will be learning how to solve long multiplication questions using the chunking method.

I have modelled this for the children as it is a new method, but it is also quite complicated and will take a couple of lessons to learn. Please watch my teaching video.

Once you have watched the video, please have a go at the questions using this method. Please choose 1 column to complete. Bronze being the easiest and gold being the hardest.

Challenge questions:

1. Three friends equally share 42 sweets. How many do they have each?

2. Four children sit at each table. How many tables are needed for 52 children?

3. 74 apples are shared equally between two barrels. How many apples are there in each barrel?

English

For your English task, we will be focusing on developing our comprehension skills.

Please take your time to read the comprehension. It is about Mark Beaumont, the man who cycled around the world.  After you have read the text, please answer the questions. Your answers need to be written in sentences, unless the question states otherwise.

Remember to underline the information in the text before writing your answer!

Geography

For our Geography topic this half term, we will be looking at different aspects from around the world.

Today, we are going to research an animal from the Rainforest.

Please watch this video about the Rainforest.

You can pick any animal to research. You will need to research:

- What type of animal it is.

- What is the animals diet is.

- What and where the animals habit it.

- Any interesting facts you can find out about the animal.

- What the animal looks like.

Please use the template to help you.
