Festival of Lights Celebrations

In the Sunshine Suite we have been learning about two different types of festivals.  The first one was Diwali which is the Hindu Festival of Lights and the second one was Bonfire Night which is a festival that we celebrate in the UK.

 

We made 'diya' lamps out of clay and decorated them with acrylic paints. Hindus light their diya lamps and set off fireworks during their celebrations.

 

We also celebrate bonfire night on the 5th November each year and have lots of fireworks.

 

We enjoyed making our special leaf fireworks. We twirled them around to make them look like Catherine wheels.
