Homework set: Friday 12th January 2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thoresby Class have had a fantastic week! We have been creating our characters and scenes for writing our diary entry. We have been discussing the features of diary entries and have been spotting these features within different examples. The children have been working really hard on multiplying two and three digits by a one digit number using the column multiplication method. This half term, we have been identifying the characteristics of solids, liquids and gases.

Homework

For your homework this week, I would like you to practise your spellings and complete the inference questions based on a piece of text. 

Homework is due in on Wednesday 17th January. 

Reading

Please continue to encourage your child to read at least three times a week and record it in your child's diary. Each week your child will get sticker on their bookmark if they have read three times. 

Please can your child bring their reading book and reading diary to school everyday. Reading books will continue to be changed on a Friday.

Spellings

This weeks spellings: courageous, outrageous, nervous, famous, adventurous, ridiculous, carnivorous, rapturous, torturous and disadvantageous

Times Table Test

On a Friday, Thoresby Class will be having a times table test. For this week, please can your child continue to practise the 7 and 8 times table ready for their test on Friday 19th January. Please try and encourage your child to use Times Tables Rockstar to practice their times tables.
