Friday 20th January 2023

Hello Welbeck Class, Parents and Carers,

This week we were lucky to spend the afternoon with Sunita learning about the stereotypes that people may have about India and then we participated in some traditional dancing. The children had lots of fun and photos from our afternoon can be found on the website.

Residential

Grown-ups of children going on the residential should have received a Parentmail notification about the deposit. This is due to be paid by Wednesday 25th January. Once the deposit has been paid we will set up a system for future payments.

Homework

This weeks homework is to continue looking at fractions. I know that fractions can be very tricky, even after our 5 week unit. We will continue to look at fractions over the next couple of weeks and additional practice at home will be beneficial for the children. Homework sheets have been handed to the children and can be brought back into school rather than emailed.

Reading

Reading diaries and books should be brought into school on a daily basis. Please continue to encourage your children to read at least three times a week at home.

Spellings

This weeks spellings are: merciful, plentiful, beautiful, fearful, faithful, boastful, doubtful, thankful, pitiful, fanciful.

SATs

Some parents have asked about the dates for the SATs tests. These tests are due to take place between Tuesday 9th May-Friday 12th May. Further information will be shared closer to the time.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Tomlinson
