Today we are going to look at another way to say the 'ur' sound - 'ir' sound - s-ir - sir!

• Can you say this sound?
• Can you make a list of words with this sound in them?
• Can you practise writing this sound?

If a grown up writes these words can you read them? - sir, shirt, first, girl, thirsty, twirl, bird, stir, third, swirl, thirty

• Can you write 2 sentences using 1 or more of these words in it?

Phonics focus of the day - 7th May, 2020 -

Today is going to be a language lesson focus - I would like to read some sentences and also write some down on paper.

Can you ask a grown up to write down the following sentences and then see if you can read them - 

• On Saturday, we are going to visit Gran.
• I heard that she hurt her foot and cannot get up thirteen steps to her flat.

If a grown up reads you these sentences can you write them down? - 

• We will go early and shop for Gran.
• She will give us a list of things to get for her.
