Dear Parents/Carers,

Thoresby Class have had a great week. We have continued to consolidate our learning about decimals by focusing on the place value of each digit and how the decimal place will move depending on whether you are multiplying or dividing by 10 or 100. In addition to this, we have been recapping and practising developing our speed when completing the multiplication check. In English, we have been looking at the features of a news blog post. We discussed the layout, content and tried to implement this within our own writing. 

Homework

For your homework this week, I have uploaded a times table game to Purple Mash in addition to the worksheet for you to go through with your grown-ups. I have also attached a DT worksheet for the children to research and begin designing some of their famous ancient landmarks. 

Homework is due in on Wednesday 8th March 2024. 

Reading

Please continue to encourage your child to read at least three times a week and record it in your child's diary. Each week your child will get sticker on their bookmark if they have read three times. 

Please can your child bring their reading book and reading diary to school everyday. Reading books will continue to be changed on a Friday.

Spellings

This weeks spellings: telephone, phonics, microphone, sign, signature, assign, design, homophone, megaphone and signal

Times Table Test

On a Friday, Thoresby Class will be having a times table test. For this week, please can your child continue to practise all of the times tables ready for their test on Friday 10th May. Please try and encourage your child to use Times Tables Rockstar to practice their times tables.
