Maths

Today we are recapping our knowledge of time. Have a look at the video to remind yourself of how to read the time and then have a go at the questions. I have put the answers underneath so that you can check your answers once you have finished.

Have a look around your house and see how many analogue clocks you have. Do you have more analogue or digital clocks? Keep checking the time throughout the day - what time is it? How long is it until your next break? Let me know how you get on!

English

Over the next week we are going to be writing a non-chronological report on the Olympic Games as part of our topic learning. Today, we are focusing on recapping the features of a non-chronological report. Can you remember any of them? Once you have had a think, use the worksheet to fill in the explanation of each feature.

After you have done this, have a look at the report and see if you can find all of the features within it. You can highlight and label the features like we usually do when text marking :)

PSHE

Today we are going to be learning about the Paralympic Games. Use the presentation to read about the history of these games. Some athletes who take part in the Paralympics want the chance to take part in the Olympic Games to race against people who aren’t disabled. What do you think about this? Do you think they should be able to? Why or why not?

Your task is to imagine you are an athlete in Paralympics with a prosthetic leg who wants to take part in the Olympic Games alongside runners with two legs. Write a letter to the IOC putting your case forward. Why should you be allowed? What would it mean to you personally?

PE

As this afternoon is our Sports Day, please use this time to do some exercise! You could use a clip from YouTube, use your own devices, such as Just Dance, to carry out some exercise or make up your own dance routine. There are plenty of things you can do to exercise! smiley
