Thoresby
For Science day, Thoresby Class completed a range of different experiments. We set up the experiments, followed instructions to carry them out and then discussed the results. We thought about the scientific processes for each one and made predictions about what may happen. We also thought about how we could follow up or improve the experiments next time!
We made chocolate rocks, looked at ice cubes, cleaned pennies and made edible marshmallow slime!
In the afternoon, we learnt about Thomas Edison. We found out about his childhood and his first jobs before moving on to research his inventions from the phonograph to the lightbulb! We discussed his legacy and how his scientific discoveries have impacted the world today and we created some excellent pieces of writing about his life.
