Reading
This week, we have been focusing on the first couple of chapters of our new focus text - 'Elvis the Squirrel'. We have been discussing the characters and identifying unfamiliar vocabulary alongside sequencing events and are looking forward to finding out more about the characters and plot as we read on!
We continue to focus on Elvis the Squirrel and have been concentrating on the first couple of chapters, ensuring we have a super understanding of the story so far. We have been answering VIPERS questions to show our understanding and develop our knowledge. We have also been doing some drama, focusing on making inferences about the characters based on what we have read.
We have now read Chapters 3 and 4 now and are starting to get an excellent understanding of the story, making predictions about what might happen next. We have been working hard on our VIPERS questions and being able to retrieve information from large pieces of text. We are looking forward to finding out what happens at the end of the story next week!
We took part in a debate to challenge our knowledge about the text and also develop our speaking and listening skills. The motion - Elvis is naughty. Some of us were for the motion and some against!
