Friday 19th March

Dear Parents/ Carers

The children have had a brilliant first two weeks back at school. I am very impressed with how motivated they are to learn and their fantastic attitudes.

For their homework task this week, I would like them to recreate Stonehenge using a range of materials. Encourage your child to be as creative as they can! Please ensure your child is also reading at home 3 times a week, practicing their spellings and using Times Tables Rockstars to practice their times tables. Homework is due in on Friday 26th March by 4pm. Please email your completed homework to clumber@st-lukes.notts.sch.uk

If you have any problems, please let me know.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Earle

Homework

For your homework, I would like you to create your own Stonehenge using a range of materials. Please read the fact file to learn all about Stonehenge.

Reading

Please reading on Bug Club and complete the comprehension questions (the bug head on various pages). All children should be reading on Bug Club 3 times a week. This will be checked on a Friday and a message will be sent home congratulating the children who have.

Please let me know if you have any problems.

Big Write

Big Write will be on Friday 26th March. For your Big Write this week, we will a Stone Age story. You will need to think about who your main characters are, where the story is set and what happens in the story (a problem and solution). You will also need to think about the grammar you will need to use. For example: expanded noun phrases, coordinating and subordinating conjunctions, adverbs, exciting sentence starters, time conjunctions, prepositions and CAPTIAL LETTER AND FULL STOPS.

Spellings

Please visit the spellings page on Clumber Class’ website dated 'Friday 19th March' to practice your spellings for a test on Friday 26th March.

Times Tables

Please practice your times tables on Times Tables Rockstars ready for a times table test on Friday 26th March.
