This week, we have completed our block on multiplication and division. We used arrays to work out how to divide numbers by 2, 5 and 10. Although it was tricky to start with, we used concrete resources to help and the children have developed a fantastic understanding of this now - well done!
The children have been introduced to their next block that we are going to be focusing on which is statistics! We have been looking at tally charts and pictograms. We discussed what they are, how they are used and why we use them.

In Maths, we have continued to solidify our knowledge of division. The children have been looking at how to divide a number by two. They quickly realised that if you divide by two then you will have to halve the number. We then focused on odd and even numbers. The children rolled a dice, wrote down the number and stated whether it was odd or even, then they would roll it again and add the two numbers together. The children discovered the patterns of when you add two odd numbers together, two even numbers together and then an odd and an even number. Can you remember the patterns? Tell your grown-ups!
