Homework 21st January 2022

Hello Welbeck Class, Parents and Carers,

This week we have continued our DAaRT (DARE) work with Mrs Swithenbank and I have been extremely impressed with the children's attitude towards the different topics that we are learning about each week. I know that they enjoy each lesson and have demonstrated great maturity.

Swimming will soon be coming to an end and it is important that all children in Y6 are able to swim 25m front stroke and back stroke. We have seen great improvements in the children's swimming abilities since starting in September and the instructors have been so impressed with the children's politeness, team work and determination to succeed. I know over the next couple of weeks this will continue to be seen from all of the children. Next week the children will need to bring a long sleeved top and trousers/leggings or pyjamas to their swimming lesson as well as their usual swimming kit. Please make sure that these clothes are put in the children's bags for them to change in to before their swimming lesson.

Homework- This half term we have started learning about electricity in science. For homework this week I would like the children to create a timeline of significant events that have lead to the development of electricity. This can be done using PowerPoint, Publisher or from creating a poster.

Reading- Please continue to encourage your child to read at least three times each week and record these in their reading diaries. Diaries are checked every Monday and books can be changed on a Monday or Friday.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Tomlinson
