Week Beginning 20th July

Hello Thoresby,

It feels strange to have reached the last week of term.

Over the holidays, remember to relax and have fun while keeping safe with your family and friends.

I am really looking forward to seeing you all back together in September. While we are off, have a look on the website at the Summer Reading Challenge under the Gallery section. Here there will be a range of different reading activities for you to try and we would love to see pictures!

For topic this week, I have given you a selection of PSHE activities to help you think about the events of this year and looking forward to next year.

Have a lovely summer and I look forward to seeing you in Year 5!

Weekly Writing Task

Have a look at the quote in the picture.

This week, I would like you to write something to show what this means to you. I t could be a diary entry thinking about the new school year, it could be a story about coming back to school or it could be a report about how a school day is. You might have other ideas as well!

Spellings

For spelling this week, I have attached a series of sheets to help you revise lots of the spellings you will have learnt over Year 4. This pack includes questions and answers.

Word of the Week

Elate verb

Make (someone) ecstatically happy.

"I felt elated at beating Dennis at football"

Can you write five sentences with our word of the week?

Bug Club

All children now have access to books at their book band level through Bug Club.

There are also a range of Maths, GPS and Science activities available on the ActiveLearn accounts.

Individual login's have been sent through Marvellous Me as well as the link to the login page, which can also be found here: https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0

Weekly Maths Tasks

This week I would like you to look at the daily lessons from one of the following,

All of these sites have produced really good lessons that are clear and easy to follow for the Year 4 curriculum - choose which ever one works best for you:

Please Note: Unfortunately, White Rose are not producing lessons for this last week, if you have been following this, you could have a look at some of the activities on one of these other sites as they are very good resources and may have lessons covering topics not covered through White Rose over the last few weeks.
