Homework set: Friday 26th January 2024

Homework due: Wednesday 31st January 2024 by 4pm

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thoresby Class have had a great week. We have been continuing to recognise the features of an advert. We've discussed where we have seen them before and what adverts do to persuade us to buy things by using persuasive language. In Maths, we have been moved on to length and perimeter. The children have really enjoyed learning how many meters are in a kilometer. In Science, the children have enjoyed predicting the temperature and then using thermometers to see if they were right. Well done! 

Homework

For your homework this week, I would like you to research some information about a holiday destination or day trip of your choice, so that you can use this information in your advertisement. 

Homework is due in on Wednesday 31st January. 

Reading

Please continue to encourage your child to read at least three times a week and record it in your child's diary. Each week your child will get sticker on their bookmark if they have read three times. 

Please can your child bring their reading book and reading diary to school everyday. Reading books will continue to be changed on a Friday.

Times Table Test

On a Friday, Thoresby Class will be having a times table test. For this week, please can your child continue to practise the 7 and 8 times table ready for their test on Friday 2nd February. Please try and encourage your child to use Times Tables Rockstar to practice their times tables.
