PE

This week, we have focused on our throwing skills. We practised throwing a ball in a circle as a class and then worked in partners to throw and catch an array of different balls. We tested our accuracy by throwing a bean bag into a hoop too. We learnt more about the underarm and overarm throws and were able to have a go at both. A super lesson!

Following on from our focus on throwing last week, this week we focused on bouncing and catching. We discussed how to effectively catch a ball, thinking about having our hands cupped and close together to give the most space for the ball to land. We bounced the ball and then had to catch it independently before moving on to working with a partner, bouncing and catching it between us. We then recapped over our throwing techniques and threw the ball to our partner, with them having to successfully catch it using the correct technique.

We have been passing the ball today, working in a big group and also with a partner. We used a range of different balls and discussed how we need to pass to each other depending on how far apart we are.

For our PE lesson this week, we practised our kicking and rolling skills. We had to roll the ball in a straight line and see who could roll the ball the furthest without veering off course - well done Finley! We then talked about how to kick a ball successfully and practised this together in groups.
