Chinese New Year!

Today has been very exciting in The Sunshine Suite. We had an early Chinese New Year celebration with our very own Chinese banquet. The children were all very adventurous and tried things that some of them had never tried before. Everyone loved the prawn crackers and noodles but not everyone was as keen on the sweet and sour chicken or beef in black bean sauce. However, the Chinese chicken curry and prawn toast were very popular. We finished our meal with mandarin jelly, chocolate cake and fortune cookies.

 

We also found out some very interesting facts about Chinese traditions, celebrations and the Chinese zodiac. Did you know that 2014 is the year of the horse?

 

What a super afternoon of learning and celebration.
