Week beginning 2nd November

This week in English we have been learning about advertisements. We have discussed how companies market their products and create catchy slogans and jingles to make them stand out. The children were given a variety of items to create a product with and we have had some fantastic ideas from a spaceship themed cat bed to a bat pan. Take a look at our advertisements to see our fantastic ideas.

In Maths we have been learning about BODMAS. We have worked incredibly hard to follow each letter to complete some complex word problems.

In Science we have been learning about the digestive system. We watched a variety of videos off the BBC website which explained the process of digestions. We have learnt about the different teeth types and what the use of stomach acid is.

Many children were very sad that this week we would be having our final swimming lesson until after lockdown. The children have made so much progress since our first lesson in September and they have developed their confidence in the pool. The staff at the leisure centre told me that they enjoyed teaching Welbeck each week because of how lovely, polite and well mannered they are. I am very proud of each child's individual progress.

We have started our new topic 'Mexico'. This week we have been learning about modern day Mexico and comparing it to Great Britain.
