Homework Letter - 10th March, 2023

We have also enjoyed learning about Holi: The Festival of colour. We created a large piece of art to celebrate this festival using lots of bright coloured powder paints and our hands!

Vincent Van Gogh - The Starry Night

We have been learning all about Vincent Van Gogh and how he created this wonderful picture called ‘The Starry Night’. We have been mixing thick paint as well as using thick brushes to create the same effect that Van Gogh used. This is one of van Gogh’s most famous paintings. Van Gogh created a swirling effect with his paint. He used thick brushstrokes and curved lines. He also used light yellow paint to make it look like the moon and stars are glowing.

We have not finished our artwork yet as we are going to add some collage detail to the bottom of it, to recreate the houses and buildings. I think you will all agree, we have made a super start!
