In English, we have continued to look at the features of a letter. We have recapped over our previous knowledge of letters and then had a go at using this time to plan our own letters that we would write to Tom (from the story The Pirates are Coming!). Children wrote some fantastic questions that they wanted Tom to answer and planned in detail their introductions, middle and last to finish off.

This week, alongside all of our reading activities, we have been focusing on the features of a letter. We reread our letter from Tom and then looked at what it included, creating a list of features together. We then worked with a partner to highlight these features and text mark the letter! We have a super understanding of letters now and are looking forward to being able to write our letter back to Tom in the next few lessons.

This week in English, the children have been introduced to the fiction story The Pirates are Coming! We have received a letter from Tom and have had a discussion about the features of letters. We are going to be learning all about what letters are used for and what is included in a letter, so that the children can have a go at writing their own letter to a pirate!
