Week beginning 14th December

For Literacy, we are looking at Kennnings. Have a look at the examples of Kennings on the Power Point. Can you guess what they are about? Have a go at writing your own on the sheet.

For Maths, we are looking at column subtraction. The children have done column addition but not subtraction. You set out the numbers exactly the same, only this time you are taking away. Complete the green sheet.

For Phonics, we are focusing on the 'aw' sound. Have a look at the Power Point and complete the snakes and ladders game with a grown up.

Tuesday 15th December

Today I would like you to create Christmas cards. I would like you to design a Christmas Pudding template, scrunch brown, white, green and red tissue paper and glue this on to a Christmas pudding template in the correct place.

For Art, I would like you to complete a similar painting to this reindeer. First, draw the reindeer carefully and do not press on hard. Then use a bright colour for the background and paint it.

For Literacy, I would like you to write a letter to Santa. What would you like for Christmas? How are his elves doing?

Wednesday 16th December

For Maths, I would like you to complete some column subtraction. The children have completed column addition but now we are going to focus on column subtraction. You need to put the biggest number on top and then take away the ones column first. Complete the sheet.

For Literacy, I would like you to write your own story about an elf of the shelf! You can either write one about your own or an imaginative one. Is your elf going to get up to mischief over night? Are they going to maybe eat some of your food? What is going to happen in your story?

For Art, I would like you to colour/draw/paint a picture of Santa.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqo7dVQCgZ8 here's a video you can watch to help.

Please complete these activities over the next two days. There are some fun art activities and a fun maths booklet to complete. I hope you have a lovely Christmas!
