Homework - 19.01.2024

Homework set: Friday 19th January 2024

Homework due: Wednesday 24th January 2024 by 4pm

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thoresby Class have had a wonderful week! We have been really busy writing diary entries based on the Maya or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have been practising different methods of throwing in PE and the children have really enjoyed perfecting their skills. In Maths, we have been learning how to divide two digit numbers and three digit numbers by one digit numbers. The children practised using lots of different methods including the part whole model, bus stop method and using the place value chart and then decided to use the method that worked best for them.

For your homework this week, I would like you to continue to practise division and multiplication questions.

Homework is due in on Wednesday 24th January.

Please continue to encourage your child to read at least three times a week and record it in your child's diary. Each week your child will get sticker on their bookmark if they have read three times.

Please can your child bring their reading book and reading diary to school everyday. Reading books will continue to be changed on a Friday.

This weeks spellings: merriment, happiness, plentiful, penniless, happily, prettiest, nastiness, beautiful, pitiful, silliness.

Times Table Test

On a Friday, Thoresby Class will be having a times table test. For this week, please can your child continue to practise the 4 and 6 times table ready for their test on Friday 26th January. Please try and encourage your child to use Times Tables Rockstar to practice their times tables.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
