We have reached the last week of term! Well done to all of the children for the hard work you have put in, both in class and at home, so far this year. This week we are completing a range of fun, Christmas related catch up activities. Have a look at the resources I have attached below and use them to catch up on what we have learnt so far this year. I have uploaded them all at once so you can choose the areas you need to work on the most and prioritise your time accordingly. There are also a range of activities on Purple Mash, and I can send you individual feedback to each task on there. Remember to access Bug Club reading and Times Tables Rockstars too. If you wish to share any of your learning you can email it to thoresby@st-lukes.notts.sch.uk
Happy holidays!
I am so sad that we will not be able to complete our learning this term together! However, there are plenty of support videos above you can use over these few days to either refresh your memory on a topic or provide more support to help your understanding. If you would like any more work relating to a specific topic that you feel you need to do extra learning on, please email thoresby@st-lukes.notts.sch.uk and I can send you some more individualised resources.
In terms of whole class activities, I would like you to write up one of the science experiments we completed on Tuesday. We did the rainbow experiment, made slime, tested our heart rates, completed the rice in a bottle experiment and also printed on bananas! When you write it up, think about the materials we used. What would you need if you wanted to complete the experiment again? Then, what was the method? Think about how we completed the experiment. After that, you need to discuss the results of the experiment - what actually happened? Finally, draw a conclusion from our experiment and think about why we got the result we achieved. What was the science behind it? Send your write ups to the class email!
For English, it would be great if you could write a non-chronological report relating to Christmas. Think back to our learning on NCRs - what features did they include? How were they presented? I have included a video below to help you.
For Maths, I have attached some Christmas activities. It would also be really beneficial to log on to Times Tables Rockstars and play some games on there.
Thank you to all of the children who have sent in work so far - I have really enjoyed looking at it all and have sent you individual feedback on Purple Mash or Marvellous Me for each task.
Keep working hard over the next few days! I have been so impressed with the work you have all done this term and the progress you have each made.
Most importantly, stay safe and have a brilliant Christmas with your families.
Miss Phillipson
