This week, Year 1 have been looking at identifying and naming a variety of common plants. We went through a PowerPoint of the different types of plants and where we might have seen these plants before. The children did a fantastic job of explaining what was meant by the word 'common' and why these plants including, daisies, dandelions, weeds and grass, are so common.
We went on a hunt around the playgroup to identify the different types of common plants. We picked some leaves that had fallen off the trees and discussed why they might have changed colour and what trees they would have fallen off.
