Hello Welbeck Class, Parents and Carers,
We have had a very busy start to the new school year. The children have been working incredibly hard and have settled into the year 6 routine extremely quickly. I have also been so pleased to see so many of our year 6 children helping the younger children at break times and lunchtimes.
On Tuesday we had our first session of Drumba. This is a mixture of drumming and zumba. Although it was extremely hot, the children had a fantastic time learning the routine to the music and many are already excited for the next session.
Wednesday was our first session of swimming. The children have all been assessed by the instructors and have been put into small groups. Each week the children will be taught pool safety alongside learning new swimming strokes.
Homework- This week for your homework, I would like you to design a water safety poster. This can be done on a computer or using a range of materials on paper. I would like you to think of the importance of keeping safe by and in water.
Homework is due Wednesday 15th September by 4:00pm.
Please email all homework to welbeck@st-lukes.notts.sch.uk
Reading- Please continue to encourage your child to read at least three times a week and record on the document below. Each week your child will receive a sticker on their bookmark if they have read three times.
If you have any questions about the homework or the school year please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Tomlinson
