Here you will find more about our teaching of RE at St. Luke's. Our school vision is:
'Let your light shine, live life to the full, respect and care for all, create a happy and safe environment for everyone.'
In RE, we aim for the children to know about and understand Christianity as a diverse, global, living faith through the exploration of core beliefs. We aim for them to gain knowledge and understanding of a range of religions and worldviews, appreciating diversity, continuity and change. We want them to ask and consider challenging questions which inspire deep thinking and enable them to explore and develop their own religious, spiritual and philosophical ways of living and believing.
Our RE lessons are taught as a discrete subject each week and are based on the Nottinghamshire RE syllabus. We use ‘Understanding Christianity’ as the basis of our Christianity curriculum in school.
