Mask Making- Our Indian Experience
We had a fantastic day on Friday when Sunita came into Rufford class to teach us all about the festival of light, Diwali. Sunita told us the story of Rama and Sita and the children all listened very carefully. Many had remembered the story from the previous year.
Sunita then showed us statues of her Gods and explained that Hindus believe in lots of different Gods. The children were able to look at the statues and pictures closely before they completed their own masks of the different Gods. Sunita was amazed at how careful the children were when completing the masks and how they paid attention to colouring within the lines and choosing the colours carefully. She said that it was the best colouring of the masks that she had seen. Well done children, I am very proud of you.
