In Maths this week we have been learning to add and subtract fractions. We started adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator and then started adding and subtracting fractions when the denominators are different. We have also been continuing to develop our skills in the long division and long multiplication methods.
In English we have been continuing to read The Day of Ahmed's Secret. We have learnt that his big secret is that he has learnt to write his name and we have spoken about the importance of this in Ahmed's life. We have also been learning about adverbials and the past perfect and present perfect tense.
We have been continuing to learn about the heart. We have learnt about how we can keep the heart healthy and we have spoken about what our pulse tells us. The children have started to experiment in ways in which our pulse will raise.
We have been learning which countries in the world speak Spanish. Did you know there are over 500 million Spanish speakers in the world? We have been learning factual information about Spain and comparing this to Mexico.
