Maths

This week, we have been consolidating our knowledge of multiplication and division, applying these concepts to the 5 and 10 times tables. Following on from this, we moved on to measurement, and began this by measuring items in centimetres. We learnt that there is 10 millimetres in a centimetre and 100 centimetres in a metre. We also learnt that there are 1000 metres in a kilometre! We will continue to measure different items using different units of measurement next week.

Measuring in centimetres.

We have continued to learn about length and height this week, measuring in metres and estimating whether objects would be less or more than one metre. We compared measurements using less than, greater than and equal to signs and finally ordered our own heights from shortest to tallest.

Measuring heights ready to order them!

This week, we measured mass in grams and kilograms, also using scales! We compared mass of objects too :)

Today we learnt about the capacity of different containers and made comparisons between them!

We measured the volume of water in each container by reading the scale on the measuring jug!
