In Welbeck we have studied Marie Curie. We learnt about her early life, her education and the work that she took part in to develop radiation- leading to breakthroughs in x-ray machines and radiotherapy. We also started to learn about the work that the Marie Curie charity does.
In the afternoon, we took part in an egg drop science investigation. The children worked in small groups to plan a fair test before starting to create something that would protect the egg from cracking. Some children created hot air balloons, others parachutes and some had more creative ideas.
