History and Geography week!

Wow! What a busy week we have had. During the week the children have been learning all about Shireoaks and how it has changed over the years. The children loved looking at all the different places such as St' Luke's church, post office, Shireoaks row and the school. They enjoyed using the BEE-BOT's (our programmable toys) to find different routes to these places using positional language forward, back, left and right. The children have also enjoyed looking at a map of Shireoaks and finding out where the school is. On Friday we looked at Shireoaks in the early 1900's and we were fascinated by how the places had changed including the steeple that used to be on top of St. Luke's church. We also spent the afternoon painting our very own pictures of our favourite places in Shireoaks. It was very tricky mixing all the colours but we had lots of fun!
