Week beginning 27th April

Hello Welbeck,

I hope that you and your family are well. Lots of you logged onto Purple Mash and Times Tables Rockstars last week and I can see that you're working incredibly hard at home.

I have added some new resources on our website over the last week. One website that I think is brilliant and will be something that you enjoy is the Natural Curriculum. It has fantastic videos of animals for you to watch and some writing ideas to help you practise all of the skills that you have been taught this year.

I have also added a link to a website that is full of R.E activities. These activities are linked to other subjects too such as Art and are very interesting.

On the Home School Link of the website I have added some Take Five videos that you might like to do with your family at home. I sent out the password to access these videos on Marvellous Me but please contact the office if you would like a reminder of the password. This week I should be receiving more videos to add to our collection.

It has been lovely to see photos of some of the excellent pieces of work you have been completing at home. I have been adding some of the photos onto the gallery section of the school website. Please keep emailing your photos to the school office email address- I am enjoying seeing them.

Keep working hard but please do not put too much pressure on yourselves- you are all doing an amazing job and should be so proud of yourselves and the adjustments you have made to your learning.

Remember to do something fun each day. This could be playing on your garden, taking part in the Joe Wicks exercise, playing board games with your family, keeping in contact with your friends or baking.

Keep being amazing- I am very proud of you all and I am missing you lots.

Take care,

Miss Tomlinson

Natural Curriculum

This website is aimed at Year 5 children, giving them daily grammar activities to complete based on animals. There is a video for each activity for the children to watch and a range of activities to complete. This may also be a good website for Year 6 children to use to recap on previous learning.

There is also a Home Learning section of the website that is specific for different year groups. Each year group is given an animal of focus and are asked to watch a video before completing a written task.

Writing Opportunities

Grimm & Co are in the process of launching a range of writing activities for children to take part in during the home learning period. These writing sessions will range from short-burst weekly writing exercises to longer writing projects. They will also be providing activities and step-by-step instructions as well as videos to help the children complete the tasks.  They will be adding different activities each week. The website below will take you directly to their website.
