Morning Task

Please have a go at todays arithmetic task. You may take as long as you need on the questions.

Maths

For todays task, we will be focusing on the subject: comparing statements. This sounds a bit tricky but we have completed these tasks at school before.

To compare, we use 3 symbols.

1. < which means less than.

2. > which means greater than.

3. = which means equal to.

However, today we will be comparing statements. Do you know what a statement is? It is a calculation.

For example: Use <, > or = to complete this comparison.

                                        3x4 ____ 4x5

Firstly, you will need to figure out what 3x4 is and what 4x5 is before you can compare them. Once you have your answer, you will be able to find out if the first statement are less than, greater than or equal to the second statement.

You may also use the PowerPoint or the video link if you would like to practice the method more before completing the worksheet.

English

For English, we are going to write a character description about Pandora. You might need to watch the video again to remind yourself of the story.

I have created a PowerPoint to explain the steps for writing a character description. On each slide, I have created a voice note where I explain each step in more detail. Your child might prefer to listen to it, rather than read the slides.

I hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to read your work.

Art

For our art topic this half term, each week we will be learning about a different artist from countries around the world. We will be looking at their techniques and creating our own piece of artwork.

This week our country is Belgium. Do you know any Dutch artists?

Our artist is  Vincent Van Gogh. He is a very famous. You might have seen some of his paintings before! Please read the PowerPoint, it will explain who he is and show you pictures of his work.

After, I would like you to have a go at drawing his famous painting 'Sunflowers'. Please use the picture to help you.
