Phonics focus of the day - 1st June, 2020 -

The 'dge' sound - as in 'badge'

  • Can you say this sound?

Phonics focus of the day - 2nd June, 2020 -

The 'le' sound - as in 'little' This sound has the silent 'e' added on the end, we have to remember not to say the 'e' sound. This sound makes the same sound as the 'l' sound.

  • Can you practise writing this sound?

The 'm' sound - written as 'mb' - Like yesterday, we have to remember not to say the 'b' sound on the end, it is silent.

The 'n' sound - that can be written like this - 'kn'  or like this 'gn' - The silent letters today are the 'k' and the 'g'- Don't let them catch you out!

The 'r' sound - that can be written like this - 'wr'- The silent letter today is the 'w'- Don't let it catch you out!
