Good morning,
Today, we will be starting off by thinking about our personal targets for this school year.
We need to think about targets for different things. Have a think and make some nots at home, what would you like to achieve in English? What would you like to achieve in Maths? What other subject in school would you like to improve and why? What about at home, your hobbies and interests, what skills would you like to develop in these this year?
Keep your ideas safe for when you get back to school!
After our targets, we are going to complete a mini-project thinking about our class name. We are Sherwood Class, named after Sherwood forest.
Have you ever been or have you heard of the forest?
You could have a look at the website for Sherwood forest to find out some more information.

Once you have completed your research, can you create a sketch of the Great Oak using as much detail as you can. To go with it, can you write a paragraph or more to explain what you know about The Great Oak, the story of Robin Hood or anything else about Sherwood Forest.
I am excited to see what you come up with!
This afternoon, we are going to have a look at our first topic, The Tudors.
The Tudor symbol was a red and white rose - we will be finding out why this was next week in our lessons.
Today, we are going to have a go at sketching some that we will be using on our display in school.
Have a look at the examples and see if you can create your own.
For a Golden Time activity, you might want to have a look at some BBC Horrible Histories videos that talk about the Tudors.
Full episodes can be found on BBC iPlayer, there is also a collection on You Tube using the following link:
