Hello Welbeck Class, Parents and Carers,

We have had a busy start back to our school year. We have settled into our new classroom and worked incredibly hard. All children have a class/ school job that they are enjoying and taking pride in and it has been lovely to see just how helpful the children are- they are always offering to help staff members. The children in Welbeck have also been fantastic with our new and younger children on the playground. They are playing games with them and helping them understand the school routine. 

Homework

This week we have been focusing on place value in Maths. On Monday and Tuesday we learnt how to multiply by 10, 100 and 1000. Complete the table on the sheet. 

Spellings

The children will come home with a password for their spelling account on Spelling Shed. Children will be allocated spellings weekly and this website provides fun games to help them learn the words. Spellings will be tested the following Friday.

This weeks spellings are: muscle, prejudice, available, determined, rhyme, identity, accommodate, suggest, competition, existence.

Reading

Please encourage your child to read at least three times a week at home. I have sent with the children an information sheet with questions that you could use to support your child's understanding of the book that they are reading. Diaries will be checked on a Monday and stickers added to the bookmarks.
