Maths

For Maths today, we will be focusing on multiplying and dividing by 8. The children have already completed a lot of work involving the 8 times tables at school. 

Please watch the video about how to multiply ad divide by 8. Your child can complete the questions along side the video on a piece of paper. Once they have completed the video, your child may have a go at the questions. They can choose which questions the would like to complete. Try and encourage your children go for either Silver or Gold to give them a challenge.

For your English lesson today, please read chapter 22 of our class book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Please write a character description about the Oompa Loompa's. Think about what they look like, how they act, their personalities and where they came from. 

Art

For your Art lesson today, we will be looking at the artist Quinton Blake. Quinton Blake did all the illustrations in Roald Dahl's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. 

Please read the PowerPoint slides. This will explain who Quinton Blake is and how he became an artist. It is important to understand who the artist is and the different techniques he uses. 

After, please use the worksheet to look at pictures of Quinton Blake's artwork. I would like you to have a go at sketching one of the pictures using Quinton Blake's technique. He uses fine lines to sketch the character and then goes over the drawing with a black pen. After, he paints the sketch quite roughly with water colour paints.
