Literacy:

For Literacy, I would like you to write the rest of your diary entry. You need to go into detail now in the main paragraph and write what happened. Did you play with the dolphins? Did they take you on an adventure in the Great Barrier Reef? I would like you to use the checklist whilst you are writing it so you can make sure you are including everything.

Dear Diary,                                                                                                                         26th January

Wow, I have had an amazing day! I went on an under the sea adventure to the Great Barrier Reef and I met lots of animals along the way. I'm so excited to tell you all about it!

Firstly, I swam near the coral. It was so beautiful I couldn't believe my eyes! Whilst I was swimming, lots of different kinds of fish swam near me. They were incredibly colourful. I saw a clown fish, it was as bright as the sun! I felt excited because I had never seen these animals before. Next, I saw some unique dolphins. They were diving in and out of the water, splashing around. I was amazed! They were so beautiful. I followed them deeper into the ocean and we discovered some seals. They looked so adorable and cute. The seals and dolphins played together and I swam and watched. I really wanted to live here forever!

Unfortunately, my adventure had ended and I knew I had to go back to shore. I was so excited to tell my parents all about my amazing adventure! I hope to go there soon again!

This is an example of a model diary entry that you could use.
