Activity: Draw an outline sketch of Shrimps and write about what you have found out so far. You might want to include what he looks like and how he tries to earn money. Think about what you know about how Shrimps feels about his mother and his wish for a brother and write comments about his feelings inside the outline sketch.
Starter- Complete the mental arithmetic questions. Set yourself a timer of 10 minutes to try and complete as many questions as you can. Remember to use the methods that you have learnt about in school.
This week we are going to continue to learn about famous Victorian scientists and inventors. Today we are going to be learning about Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Activity- Using materials at home, I would like you to design and build a bridge. Think about:
- Structure- Is it free standing?
- Strength- Can you balance something on top of it?
You might build your bridge out of recycled materials e.g. boxes and bottles, Lego or other building blocks or using chairs, cushions and blankets.
