English

In English this week, we have been designing and describing an interesting character that may appear in our story. Take a look below for some fantastic examples. 

Maths

In Maths this week we have been completing a range of assessments. I have been very impressed with the children's hard work and attitude towards their learning. Well done everyone!

Swimming

This week, the children have once again impressed me with their mature attitude during our trip to the leisure centre. The children have been working hard in the swimming pool and completed many lengths by the end of our session. This week the children have been learning to breathe in the water and they have practised the different leg kicks for the different strokes. 

Science

We have been continuing with our learning about evolution. This week we looked at the famous scientist Charles Darwin and learned about his life and his scientific work. We created fact files based on the information that we have learnt. 

Art 

In Art we have been continuing with our Aztec art and I have been so impressed with the children's work. I am looking forward to them being completed so I can share them with you soon.

P.S.H.E

This week we have been learning about keeping ourselves safe. We have spoken about peer pressure and how we may feel we need to do something because our friends have dared us to do it. 

Reading

Last week your child will have brought home their Bug Club passwords. I have updated your child's book band on the website and they should now have a range of books On Friday, the children will be given a photocopied extract of our class book.

Times Tables

Please continue to practise the times tables with your child up to 12 x 12. Your child should have their password for Times Tables Rockstars but if you would like a reminder please let me know.
