Music

This week, we have listened to and discussed the song 'Spooky World', working in groups to sing a part of the song. We discussed how the song made us feel and it will be our focus song over the next few lessons. We used a range of instruments to create different sounds which we heard in the song, discussing words that we would use to describe the music. We then drew images to represent the sounds!

This lesson we have focused on the lyrics of the song 'Spooky World' and have been discussing rhyming couplets. We thought about what we might see, hear and feel if we were at a spooky school and listed some interesting vocabulary. We then used this to help us write rhyming couplets following the rhythm of Spooky World.

Finally, we have been studying different graphic scores and creating the sounds these represent using body percussion. We discussed what the images represented and how they made us feel relating to sounds - do they represent a loud sound or a quiet one? How fast or slow should the music be? We worked in groups to create some sounds using our bodies to represent the sounds and then combined these together to make longer sequences of music.
