World Book Day 2016

To celebrate World Book Day we focused on the story Sharing A Shell by Julia Donaldson. We listened to the story and talked about how the characters might be feeling and why it is important to share. In circle time we discussed examples of when we have shared something with someone and how it made us feel.

In English we re-wrote the ending of the story. Some children decided that the sea creatures would make new friends whilst others decided that the sea creatures would have to try and find their way back home. The children used speech marks, question marks and exclamation marks to make their writing more interesting.

In Design and Technology the children designed a new home for the creatures. We discussed appropriate materials for building a home and discussed why some materials e.g. paper isn't suitable.
